  • What can I do with a degree from IBH?
    • An IBH degree allows you to explore healthcare beyond the clinical treatment of patients. There are many business aspects to the healthcare industry, including complex sets of managerial decisions related to supply chains, information management, and financing required for healthcare systems to function properly. A degree that combines these disciplines could set you up for careers in:
      • Hospital Administration
      • Non-profit leadership
      • Health policy analyst
      • Medical Equipment Sales
      • Insurance Sales and Management
      • Medical Data Policy and Management
  • Why is this better than a double major in business and health?
    • The IBH program provides a more in-depth curriculum and higher level training in a cohort-based environment. It offers an integrated first-year seminar, an integrated capstone real-world experience and an organized curricular sequence.
  • I am considering a major in business, why should I consider the IBH program?
    • Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing and most impactful industries in the world. Employment in the healthcare field is projected to grow 16% over the next decade, adding about 2.6 million new jobs to the economy--many of which are business-related.
  • Will I gain real-world experience in the IBH program?
    • As an IBH student you will have experiential learning as part of your curriculum, as well as a portfolio-worthy real-world capstone experience. Examples include working with a  hospital on community needs assessment, assisting on a pharmaceutical project on regulatory compliance, developing a SAP on marketing to a new subset within the healthcare industry through a consulting job. These caption experiences will demonstrate a students’ capacity to apply theoretical concepts to a real-world problem.
  • Can I do pre-med with IBH?
    • The degree program requirements include the business core, as well as health policy and community health courses to understand the health and healthcare environment. Unfortunately, this doesn’t leave much space in a student’s schedule for the pre-med lab sciences and other required courses.
    • If pre-med is your plan, you can pursue a major in health or business, and minor in the other to complete the required courses needed.
